From our kennel and hearts... ...To your couch and heart
Located in Orillia, Ontario, Gillian’s Greyhound Adoption (GGA) is a small but mighty National Greyhound Association-endorsed, pro-greyhound pro-racing adoption group recognized by the World Greyhound Organisation. We specialize in adoptions and rehabilitation/behavioural referrals for retired racing greyhounds. Our deep connection to many of the hounds in our care sets us apart. These greyhounds often come from the kennels of our friends—owners, trainers, and breeders we know and trust. We are passionate about ensuring their transition from professional athlete to professional pet is as successful as their racing careers.
Retired, Not Rescued
At GGA, we do not "rescue" greyhounds, and neither do reputable adoption groups. Retired racing greyhounds come from an environment of care, respect, and professionalism. They do not need saving—they need a loving home that respects their past to be a part of their future where they thrive in their next chapter. Our adopters value this perspective, celebrating the legacy and potential of these extraordinary athletes.
A Thoughtful Adoption Process
We take adoption seriously. This isn’t about casual placements—we are committed to finding the right home for each retired racing greyhound based on its unique needs, personality, and history. Adopters who share our respect for the sport of greyhound racing and its community are ideal candidates. We welcome those who share our values and commitment to greyhound welfare. If greyhound racing or the industry isn’t aligned with your views, we encourage you to explore other breeds or adoption opportunities.
When you adopt from GGA, you’re not just gaining a pet—you’re honouring the legacy of a retired athlete and opening your heart to a hound with an extraordinary story. Are you ready to help them thrive?
